Did The Weeknd Just Shade Drake in New Music Friday Highlight 'Lost in the Fire'? - TooFab

The Weeknd's new single, "Lost in the Fire," is among the biggest New Music Friday releases, and he may have slipped in some shade directed at one-time close friend Drake.

Speculation of Drake having once hooked up with Bella Hadid has been circulating the hip-hop community since 2017 -- and The Weeknd's new track with DJ Gesaffelstein might just be the confirmation fans have been craving.

"Lost in the Fire," which is the among the highlights of this week's #NewMusicFriday offerings, makes fairly obvious (and graphic) references to the Star Boy's supermodel girlfriend, while taking a fairly obvious shot at his one-time close friend and collaborator (who reportedly hosted Bella's 21st birthday party when The Weeknd was dating Selena Gomez).

Drake and The Weeknd -- real name Abel Tesfaye -- are also both from Toronto and reportedly run in the same circles (clearly).

In verse 1 of "Lost in the Fire," Weeknd sings, "I wanna f--k you slow with the lights on / You're the only one I've got my sights on / Type of sex you could never put a price on / I'll take it off, you're the one I'll roll the dice on / And I just want a baby with the right one / 'Cause I could never be the one to hide one."
